History

 

Leonardo Vernier met Caroline Bisset at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic during their time there. They married, and eventually after trying for 8 years, had one child by the name of Aaron Vernier. He also went to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and later married a muggle baker named Amelie Durand. They had two children - Isabelle in 2027, and Patrick in 2032. In 2036, Amelie passed away from Muggle cancer, and Aaron moved with his two children to Rhone where he met Clarissa Renaud. She had a daughter of her own who was a year and a half younger than Patrick named Anastasie. 

 

In 2037, Leonardo passed away from old age, followed by Caroline almost a year later. These were important deaths in the family, resulting in Isabelle’s extreme nervousness and fear of abandonment and unpredictability. She was always a very fragile person. Due to this, Isabelle was homeschooled when she began wizarding education in 2038. Aaron taught her everything he knew until he was offered a job as a Magical Law Enforcer in 2040. With his busier schedule, Isabelle then began attending Beauxbatons Academy of Magic as he no longer had much time to educate her. This was when the Vernier family began to rise financially.

 

Soon after, Clarissa and Aaron became married, and the pair of them worked as much and as often as they could with the intention of having more children later on in life. Clarissa was very stubborn and strong-willed, and played an important role in keeping Aaron motivated and working. She worked within the Ministry in France doing reception duties and was quite good with customer service. She didn’t take anything from anyone.

 

Four years later, when Clarissa’s parents passed away and Clarissa and Aaron accumulated enough money, the family moved to New Zealand. New Zealand was where Clarissa’s older sister resided, and so they moved there with the intention of being closer to family. They relocated to a big and beautiful 5 bedroom house within the wizarding suburbs. With the move to New Zealand, Aaron also decided to move Isabelle to Hogwarts New Zealand as she had unfortunately been bullied at Beauxbatons due to her nervous stutter. She was sorted into Ravenclaw House. 

 

In May 2041, Clarissa and Aaron had fraternal twins Lucie and Louis. They were a new addition to the quickly growing household.

 

Patrick Vernier attended Hogwarts New Zealand in 2043, followed by Anastasie in 2044. They were sorted into Hufflepuff and Slytherin respectively. Patrick was part of the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team and became Hufflepuff prefect in his fifth year, whilst Anastasie was a respected member of the Accio Yearbook team.

 

Isabelle Vernier married a French man named Link Raison in 2044,

not long after she graduated from Hogwarts, and moved out of the

family home. She changed her last name to Vernier-Raison and had

a daughter by the name of Ruto Vernier-Raison in 2046. She then began

working at the New Zealand Ministry of Magic under the Wizarding

Examinations Authority Department.

In 2051, Patrick applied to become an Auror, making it onto the team

and making his family extremely proud. His younger step-sister 

followed him into the Ministry, becoming part of the Department of

Experimental Charms once she graduated.

 

In 2052, Lucie and Louis began attending Hogwarts New Zealand.

They were sorted into Slytherin and Hufflepuff House respectively. It was also this year that Isabelle and Link separated. With Link travelling for work and Isabelle hesitant to homeschool Ruto, they decided it would be best to separate. This resulted in Isabelle moving back into her family home with Ruto, and as there weren't enough bedrooms, Anastasie moved out into a one bedroom apartment so that Ruto could have her bedroom and the Vernier household was full again. In late 2057, Isabelle finally saved up enough to move out again with Ruto.

Etymology

​

Vernier is the topographic name for someone who lived near an alder tree. Hyper Corrected form of 'Varnier', the form of Warner found in eastern France.

• Ruto gets her middle name from her Maternal Grandmother, Amelie Vernier.

• It is a tradition in the Renaud Family (Anastasie, Lucie, and Louis's maternal side) to include the name ‘Anna’ or ‘Ana’ in the first born daughter’s name, hence Anastasie's first name.

• If sisters Annabelle, Clarissa and Jane all went to Hogwarts, they would probably have been sorted into Slytherin House.

• If Amelie was magical and went to Hogwarts, she would have probably been sorted into Ravenclaw House.

• If Aaron Vernier went to Hogwarts, he would have probably been sorted into Hufflepuff House.
