The Carter Family

Carter is the surname of a muggle family located in New Zealand. They must have had some distinct magical blood as a few muggle-born members have popped up in recent generations, including siblings Landon Carter and Kristina Owens (nee Carter). They are related to the Elliston family and the Owens family through marriage.

History

Thomas Carter met Charlotte Jones and married in 1998. They were both muggles and met each other at a muggle primary school that they both taught at. In 2000, they had their first daughter Jasmine Carter, followed by Kristina Carter in 2003. Kristina Carter began showing magical abilities and was sent a Hogwarts acceptance letter in 2014. A couple of months later, the youngest Carter was born - Landon Carter. He was admittedly an accident. Kristina was sorted into Hufflepuff House. She became prefect in her fifth year which was the same year she met Jacob Owens, a Gryffindor who was two years above her. They were paired together for prefect duties. In 2024, after they both graduated from Hogwarts, they began dating and married the following year, changing Kristina’s last name to Owens.

In 2025, another acceptance letter came to the Carter family for Landon. He was accepted into Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in America, which he thought would be a better school to attend. It would be a whole new experience for him which he was really excited for. He had the option between Pukwudgie House and Thunderbird House and decided to go with Thunderbird. He joined the quidditch team in his second year, however did not become prefect or head boy.

In 2027, Kristina had her first child, followed by her second in 2031.

In 2034, Landon moved to North America and was a muggle-studies professor at Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for seven years (2034-2040). He quit his job after separating from his wife, whom he married in 2035. After trying for children for three and a half years, Landon's wife found out she was infertile in 2040 which put her in a depressing state. She became mad and did not want to continue their marriage if she was not able to give Landon what he wanted, and hence started to fill out divorce papers in fear that if they stayed together for any longer Landon would not be able to find someone else who was able to give him his own children.

In July of 2041 Landon moved back to Wellington, New Zealand with his parents and rented out a muggle apartment not too far away from where they were living. He remained unemployed for six months before applying for another professor job at Hogwarts New Zealand. He successfully earned himself the position of the junior years Herbology Professor. It was during January 2042 that he began working there.

In December of 2044 Landon met Georgiana Night whom he quickly formed a strong connection with. The pair of them went on various dates together and soon became of romantic interest. In August of 2047 Landon proposed to her, changing her name to Georgiana Night-Carter, and this was quickly followed by a promotion at his workplace as he was then able to teach advanced Herbology to the older years. He soon dropped this however as he then took on the role of Hufflepuff Head of House in 2048.

In 2050 Landon had his first child by the name of Genesee Carter. She was a beautiful baby girl and he was thrilled to finally be a father.

In 2053 Landon helped an older Hufflepuff student by the name of Lauren Davenport, through a rather tough time. Her parents were not the nicest people and were put on trial for crimes that they had committed against their children. In January 2054, Landon offered to adopt her and one of her younger sisters, Camille Davenport. Georgiana was very much on board, and Lauren was happy to accept his offer.

The following year, in 2055, Georgiana and Landon had another child of their own. It was another baby girl and they named it Tessaria after one of Landon's favourite plants.
