Fifth Year

Isabelle's summer holidays were extremely busy with looking after the twins.

Clarissa kept asking her to look after them whenever she went out of the house

whilst Isabelle's father went to work. This did not bother Isabelle much as she

was actually quite glad to be getting to know them but it takes more than one

person to look after one baby, let alone two.

During the first semester of Isabelle's fifth year she had developed a crush on

an older boy. She did not tell anyone about it, not even her father, and couldn't

help but stare every time he came near. After a few weeks, the boy approached I

sabelle, told her his name was Link Raison, and asked her if she'd go on a date

with him. Embarrassed, but also ecstatic, Isabelle accepted the offer and found

herself holding his hand in a crowded restaurant that weekend.

Upon going back home for the Christmas holidays it was announced that her family was moving to New Zealand and Isabelle was going to have to move schools. She was obviously not happy about this considering she had just started feeling comfortable at Beauxbatons, and was forced to start doing English lessons almost a week into the holidays. She told Link the devastating news once she came back to school but he promised her that he would send her a letter each day which made her feel slightly better.

Isabelle Vernier

Isabelle Vernier (b. 6 July, 2027) is a Half-blood witch and the eldest daughter to Aaron and Amélie Vernier (née Durand). She began attending Beauxbatons Academy of Magic in 2040 and before that was being homeschooled by her father.

Early Life (2027-2038)

Isabelle Penelope Vernier is the eldest child of Half-blood wizard Aaron Vernier and Muggle baker Amelie Vernier (nee Durand). She was born on the sixth day of July, 2027 in the local Hospital in Burgundy, France and her first language is French.

In 2036, Isabelle's mother, Amélie Vernier, had passed away from Muggle

cancer. Being the closest to her mother, Isabelle visited her each and

every day in hopes that everything will just get better. It wasn't until Amélie

was not acting herself when Isabelle started to notice that it was just

getting worse. The cancer was spreading and she was starting to lose

control of her limbs. Eventually, she became a vegetable and not even the

most powerful magic could prevent this from happening (but it did in fact

slow it down). It was almost a month after Isabelle's 9th birthday when she

died at 32 years of age and the family was in great grief for the next

couple of years.

12 months later Aaron Vernier had met another woman that worked at the same workplace as he did. In June 2040 he had asked her to marry him and Isabelle's family had moved in with her and her daughter, much to Isabelle's disliking. Their wedding happened on August 27, 2040. It was that year also when Isabelle first went to Beauxbatons rather than being homeschooled and it was hopefully the year of new beginnings for the Vernier family.

Beauxbatons Years (2040-2043)

Third Year

Upon moving to a new school, it didn't take long for Isabelle to find the library which soon turned out to be her favourite place. She spent most of her time there and was even able to make an acquaintance by the name of Dove Williams who was a year older than her and was willing to allow Isabelle to hang out with her and her friends. Isabelle told her father all about what happened each week through sending a letter to him using one of the school's owls. It kept her feeling safe, along with the journal her father gifted her before attending the school.

During the Christmas break, Isabelle was told by her father that his wife Clarissa was pregnant which came as a shock to Isabelle as she didn't realise they would have a child together so quickly. She hoped that this didn't mean her father would be too busy for her. Isabelle came back to school to have met a seventh year girl who was willing to give her a tour of the school. Mostly, Isabelle kept to herself and ended up getting almost straight Os in most of her classes that year which her professors were very pleased with.

Fourth Year

Before coming back for her fourth year, Isabelle had met her two new half-siblings. They were fraternal twins - a boy and a girl named Louis and Lucie. This meant that Isabelle's father was on maternity leave, making him faster replying to her letters. At one point, it wasn't her father that replied and was instead Patrick who had sent her a drawing of a bear.

Hogwarts Years (2043-2045)

Sixth Year

Moving to a new foreign school had proved to be a challenge for Isabelle, especially since it was not long ago that she had started learning English. Being sorted into Ravenclaw house, Isabelle tried her best to talk to her head of house during the house meeting at the start of the year, hoping he would help her settle in. Unfortunately, the language barrier made it difficult and Isabelle was too shy to tell him that. Luckily, Isabelle was still in contact with Link throughout the year, regularly sending him owls telling him how things were going. On top of that, Isabelle was fortunate enough to attend the school with two younger French students, Isabelle Marie and Tholomyes Fontaine who gladly taught her how to read her class notes.

When the second semester came around, Isabelle was glad to have met her step-cousins Eleanor and Lilyanna Hope. It meant that she was able to make more friends at the unfamiliar place. Her grades were not the best by the end of the year but she hoped that next year she would be fluent enough in English to improve them, especially considering she also had her brother who was attending the school too.

Seventh Year

Isabelle started her seventh year feelings less lonely and helpless as she had felt the year before. Her brother had started school and was sorted into Hufflepuff. Despite them being sorted into different houses, Isabelle still made an effort to talk to him and help him in his studies to make him feel comfortable as he would be spending more time than her at the school. She showed him how to translate his notes and to simplify them so they were easier to read and Isabelle was thankful when he had received nearly perfect grades at the end of the year.

During the holidays, Isabelle made sure to finally meet up with her boyfriend since moving to New Zealand. He gave her a book in which Isabelle opened up to find a ring inside. Link had proposed to her and she was quick to say yes, excited for what was to come once she graduated.

Personality and traits

"Isabelle is such a bundle of joy once you get to know her. Sure, she's shy, but she's also sensible. She knows what is right from wrong and hates not following the rules. She keeps to herself and has quite a good brain. It's a pleasure to call her my daughter."
     - Aaron Vernier, Isabelle's father, describing Isabelle's personality.

Isabelle is good at managing her time and making sure everything is in order. She's very motherly, ensuring everyone else is fine before thinking about herself. However, she is not a leader and is always a follower in any circumstance as she hates taking the spotlight and bossing people around. Isabelle is not excellent at socialisation and would rather sit back and wait for people to approach her rather than taking initiative and trying to make friends herself. She finds it very hard to communicate with people, especially in English as it is not her first language, and she does not have many friends because of this.

Isabelle tries to be an optimist but is definitely a pessimist. She always thinks about the worst case scenario before doing things and can often find herself thinking negative thoughts when she least wants to. Isabelle is an introvert and prefers to keep to herself rather than potentially embarrassing herself in front of other people. She prefers to keep on the safe side rather than living on the edge and believes that there is no point in not following the rules and wouldn't want to suffer with the consequences if she didn't. Isabelle is extremely logical when it comes to different situations and prefers to work things out in her head. She is quite an intelligent person.
