Hogwarts Years (2060-2067)

First Year

Violet was excited to start attending Hogwarts. She had been waiting for the day for a while now. However when the sorting hat decided to place her into Ravenclaw, she was left very confused as it was perhaps the last house that she expected to be placed in. She wasn't too disappointed with it however and thought maybe being a Ravenclaw wouldn't be too bad. After all, she wanted to be her own person, show the world that she was more than what they thought, and what better way to do that than being part of an entirely new house to everyone else.

Before classes started, Violet came across some older students who were advertising a castle tour for the first years, and so Violet decided to join it, figuring it would be the best way for her to get familiar with everything and ensure she wouldn't be late to classes.

Violet also tried her best to make some friends. She sat down next to a fellow first year in the common room, however it didn't go down too well as they didn't care to acknowledge her, and so Violet quickly decided to give up on that idea. Instead, she decided to join the Heta Omega club and the Conglomerated Arts club, as she figured she would find more like-minded people there.

As the year progressed, Violet soon discovered that her favourite subject was flying, and she really understood why her mother decided to become a professional Quidditch player. She was keen to be able to try out for the Quidditch team the following year.

Towards the end of the year Violet decided she would try and figure out why the forbidden forest was so forbidden. The first place she headed to for some answers was the library. A fellow Ravenclaw first year tried to help her find some books about it, but there was no luck. She figured it may have been due to the magical creatures that lived there, but why would they choose to build a school right next to a forest full of dangerous creatures?

Overall, Violet mostly enjoyed her first year at Hogwarts however she felt she still had more to explore. Her grades weren't too bad either, with half her subjects resulting in an EE and the other half an O.

Second Year

The first thing Violet did when she returned back to Hogwarts was try out

for the quidditch team. After telling her mum about her newly discovered

interest, she didn't want to let her down. She didn't have high hopes

however as she knew she was only a second year and would be the

youngest. She decided to try out for seeker as there would be only one

thing she had to focus on apart from dodging bludgers. Luckily, Violet

managed to get an alternate seeker position on the team, and she was

quite please with herself.

A new year also meant even more new responsibilities. She now had to

look after her cousins from her dad's side - Noah and Alana. She didn't

care too much about doing this however as they were both quite

independent and fine on their own.

Overall, Violet had a good year simply focusing on her classes and Quidditch. She unfortunately didn't get a chance to play a game on the team, however enjoyed their practice sessions and hoped it would help her gain a more permanent position down the line.

Third Year

Violet's third year started off with her having to mind another one of her cousins - Lumos. They hopped onto the Hogwarts express together however Violet didn't care to sit with him as he was probably her least favourite cousin.

This year Violet had to take some additional subjects and she chose Care of Magical Creatures, Divination and Ancient Runes, which were all subjects that her mother had chosen as well when she was at the school. She figured if her mother could get through them then she could.

When Violet attended tryouts for the Quidditch team, she decided to not only try out for seeker but beater as well, in case she was somehow better at this. It didn't seem that she was however as she made it onto the Quidditch Team again as an alternate seeker. She was very pleased with this as it meant she could keep practicing to finally get a permanent position.

Biographical Information

One morning, when she was minding her own business during breakfast time, the Hufflepuff Head of House decided to have a conversation with her. He was also her mother's uncle, and so she figured out quickly why he was approaching her and asking if she had any friends. Violet was quick to brush him off however and thought the interaction to be rather odd.

By the end of the year, Violet managed to get an O in all her additional subjects except for Ancient Runes. She wasn't the biggest fan of this subject but she was determined to at least keep it until her OWL year.

Fourth Year

As Violet entered her Fourth Year, her twin sisters were to join her as well. Unlike Violet, they were both sorted into

Slytherin which was very much expected. Violet wanted to prove to them both that she was liked at Hogwarts, and

so made an effort to pretend to be busy, mostly so that she didn't have to stick around them very often.

Before Violet could focus on anything else, she was determined to get herself a permanent position on the

Quidditch team. Last year a lot of her classmates received one and she didn't, and she figured it was time for

herself to do so as well. She thought it might have been better to broaden her options, so rather than trying out for

a particular position, she stated to the captain that she didn't mind where she was placed and that she'd try out for

everything. She was delighted when she received a permanent position on the team as a keeper.

To try and make some more friends, Violet decided she would help out Heta Omega at the club fair to try and

recruit some new members. She wasn't sure how well she did, but they did get a few first years that signed up

and the leaders were pleased with this.Violet's Quidditch matches went alright considering she hadn't played much

of the keeper position before. She knew she had a lot to practice however and was determined to become a better player.

When Valentine's Day came around, Violet was shocked to have received a friend rose from someone she shared a dormitory with. It thanked her for being a tolerable roommate and Violet was touched by it as she hadn't received such a nice compliment before.

Fifth Year

When Violet received a prefect's badge in the mail, she could barely believe it. She triple checked whom it was addressed to, feeling as though it may have been a mistake. She felt odd putting it on her chest and walking back into Hogwarts after the school break. She had even more responsibilities now and she was grateful that her Head of House trusted her with them.

It wasn't long before the first Quidditch game of the year was underway. Violet did well this game, however they were unfortunately defeated. Violet tried her best to not let it get to her however as she knew she was improving and she just had to keep persisting.

Overall, Violet did well in her OWL exams, with most of her grades being an O whilst the others being an EE. She was very pleased with this.

Sixth Year

Heading into her Sixth Year, Violet received the title of Heta Omega President. She figured helping

them out last year really meant a lot to them, and she was flattered that people were considering

her for these types of roles. It did also mean however that she had yet another responsibility on top

of prefect duties and Quidditch, and so the teen decided to drop some subjects to account for it.

She dropped Ancient Runes, Potions, Divination and Astronomy, and it made such a difference to

her work load, especially as she was also learning to apparate now.

Being President of Heta Omega meant that Violet had to participate more in activities. With the

help of the Brotherhood club, Violet organised a speed dating event that she also tried participating

in with no success. She didn't mind this however as she had far more important things to focus on

in her life.

Before the end of the school year, Violet attempted applying for a job at Quality Quidditch Supplies in Obsidian Harbour so that she could earn some money of her own. She was unfortunately not hired.

Overall, Violet enjoyed her Sixth Year however was nervous for the final exams that she would have to take the following year.

Seventh Year

Violet went into her last year of school wanting to focus most on her studies. She didn't care anymore about making friends or becoming the best Quidditch player on the team, as all of that wasn't going to matter to her once she left. The most scary part for her was that she hadn't put any thought into what she wanted to do once her studies ended, and so she wanted to do well in order to keep her options open.

During a trip to the library, Violet decided she would sit with a classmate so that she could be more motivated to study. She didn't mind Apolline, and they did a few subjects together so it was quite a helpful study session.

At the end of the year, Violet earned herself an O in every subject except for Care of Magical Creatures in which she received an EE. She was very happy with this and for once felt confident in saying she was proud of herself.

Etymology

The name Violet comes from the Old French word violette, which stems from the Latin word viola (meaning violet or purple).

Owens is a Royal Welsh surname. It means 'well-born', or from the Old Welsh word 'oen', meaning the lamb. Owens has long been one of the most popular of all Welsh personal names. The name Rosemary means "dew of the sea," originating from the Latin words ros (dew) and marinus (of the sea).
